A little piece of Ancient Greece

Every quilt has a personal story, each one has a soul and it's own silent speech.
Every time I hold a customer quilt, I imagine how carefully the other hands holded it, chose the fabrics, made cuts, sewed and pressed with a great love. Almost every quilt is done for a present for the most beloved people which is even more priceless with all the best and warmest feelings put inside.

Quilting your tops, I always try to guess what you were feeling inside while making it... And sometimes I see my own story behind it :)

This top made my moods for a whole week! All hours that I spent quilting, I felt I was... in Ancient Greece. All these warm sandy, creamy, earthy colors transfered me there, in the greatest centuries of rise. Porcelain, straight streets, houses made of stone, clean proportions and forms, mathematically based architecture orders, amazing snow-white sculptures of beautiful naked bodies, draped with streamy fabric...

It was a fantastic feeling, I swear I even felt smell of sea, blooming olives and oranges, taste of sweet grape wine and hot sun on my skin.

I love how this quilt turned out. I hope Pati (piecer) will also love it and also will feel a little part of my soul, put into this Greek project.

I guess I desirved a glass of good wine tonight to celebrate this quilt - which also signs my first anniversary, 1 year of long arm quilting.
