Release 12: Dear Jane. Block K2: Grandpa's Chickens.

 Hello Girls, happy Monday everyone!

Today I'd like to offer you a quite simple block, as always on Mondays. First wanted to post another one, but let's keep it for Friday, it is much more complicated.

Ok! Let's warm up before the long working week!

Cut:

- 3 strips 1,25'' x 10'' of color fabric
- 3 strips 1,25'' x 10'' of BG fabric

Release 11: Dear Jane. Block J7: Chicken Tracks

 Finally, it's Friday! I had a long crazy week, and you? Just happy it's Friday and I'll be able to   turn off my alarm-clock and spend some time with family.

Well let's get back to our DJ?

Today you will need to cut:

- five colored strips 1'' x 10'', don't be confused by the picture!
- four BG strips 1'' x 10'', don't be confused by the picture!
- four BG squares 2.125'' (2  1/8")

Release 10: Dear Jane. Block J6: Granny Weaver

Hello Hello everyone!

I am sorry, as I told before I so short of time the last days.
So without any words let's move straight to the next block.

First cut:

- four squares 2   1/8'' (2,125'' - 0,125'' is one little mark on your placemats)
- three BG strips 1'' x 10''
- two color strips 1'' x 10''

Release 9: Dear Jane. Block H12: Hannah Lou's Hearts

 Good morning everyone! Welcome back to our peicing journey. Finally we moved to our first applique block! Congratulations. This block will be a small relief before two more complicted blocks we are going to piece this week.

Please note that applique is a technique that could be realized in several ways. You can hand applique, machine applique, use fusible web or use freezer paper - it is all up to your preferences and taste, and for sure experience. Today I am going to show the easiest way to do applique, but you are welcome to realize this block in your favourite manner.

Well, let's go.

Today you will need:

- one 5'' background square (I cut 6'' for myself, as far as I just love to trim the block to an ideal square when it's made)

- one long 3,5'' x 12'' colored strip

- fusible web (also known as interlining, vlieseline...)

- thread of the closest color to your colored fabric

- textil adhesive spray

Release 8: Dear Jane. Block F3: Snowball

 Friday, Fraday! What a happy day!
Let's make one more block, that is called Snowball. In the previous block we faced this technique and now let's use it again, twice in one block.

You need to cut  from your fabrics:

- four 1.75'' BG cquares
- four 1.25'' BG squares
- four 1.25'' color squares
- four 3.75''x1.25'' BG strips
- one 3.75'' color square

 

Release 7: Dear Jane. Block F4: Old Windmill

 Hello girls!
Our Wednesday block is here.

We need to cut:

- four 1,5'' squares (color)
- one 1,75'' square (color)
- four  1,75'' x 4'' strips (bg) - in the foto I have two 1,75'' х 8''
- one 5'' square (color) - confident sewers may cut 4''



Buenos dias amigas!
 Vamos a hacer nuestro miercoles bloque.

Cortar:

- cuatro 1,5'' cuadrados (color)
- un 1,75'' cuadrado (color)
- cuatro  1,75'' x 4'' tiras (fondo) - en la foto yo tengo dos 1,75'' х 8''
- un 5'' cuadrado (color) - las costureras seguras pueden cortar 4''

Release 6: Dear Jane. Block H13: Farm Fields

Hello my dear friends! Hope you all had a nice weekend and now are full of energy and ready to start a new working week. Lets make another simple block H13.

For this block you will need to cut one 5,5'' square from the colored fabric and a long 1" strip - 16" will be enough - from the BG fabric. You can also cut two 8" long strips instead of one long.

Buenos dias amigas! Creo que todas tuvieron buen fin de semana y ahora estan llenas de energia y listas para nueva semana laborable. Vamos a hacer un bloque mas: H13.

Para hacer este bloque necesitaran cortar un cuadro de 5,5" de tela colorada y una tira de 1" de tela fondo. Le alcanzara una tira larga de 16" o dos tiras de 8".

Release 5: Dear Jane. Block I2: Kaye's Courtyard

 Hello my friends, lets move one block closer to our dream quilt.
Today we are making a simple block I2. You need to revise how made the previous one and it will be done quickly and easily. Let's start.
Cut two sets of 1,75'' 1,5'' strips for a 9 patch block. It will be enough 5'' for a bg-c-bg and 3'' for c-bg-c.
Also cut two 4'' squares from colored fabric.


Hola mis amigas! Vamos a movernos un poquito mas cerca a nuestro quilt de suenos.
Hoy dia hacemos el bloque muy facil. Necesitaran revisar como hicimos el bloque ultimo, y lo sera muy simple a acabar este. Empezamos.
Cortamos dos juegos de tiras de 1,75'' 1,5'' ancho para el bloque 9 patch. Seran bastante 5'' largo para juego f-c-f y 3'' para juego c-f-c.
Tambien cortamos dos 4'' cuadraditos de tela colorada.

 

Weather tricks

There's one thing among the others which I adore about this city - the weather changes so quickly, that you really can experience all four seasons in one day. Can you believe that these pectures were taken in a couple of hours one after another? :)

Release 4: Dear Jane. Block I1: Ralph & Nelda's Wedding.

 Today we are going to make the next block, which contains some really small details. Get yourself some wine and be patient :)

Hoy dia hacemos el siguente bloque cual contiene detalles de verdad chiquitos. Tomemos un poco vino y tengamos paciencia :)

Cut stripes of both BG and color fabric, 1.25'' wide and lenght - how much will be needed for you. It is very possible that it won't be perfect at the first attempt and you will want to remake. I cut 10'' the longer stripes and 4'' the shorter ones.
You will also need two 3'' squares cut from colored fabric.

Cortamos tiras de fondo y de tela colorada, ancho 1,25'', largo - cuanto necesitaran, es posible que van a hacer el mismo bloque mas que una vez. Yo corte de 10'' las tiras largas y de 4'' las pequenas.
Cortamos dos  cuadritos 3'' de tela colorada.

Bubble play mat

Hi all!

I think many people have alredy tried this lovely and funny design. It is easy and much fun, and the result is always awesome!

I got an order to this mat for a little boy who is fond of two things: yellow color and dinosaurs. What a great combo, yeah? His mom asked me to use bright colors and many many dinos. It was a great luck, as far as I had a pretty fabric with dinos which I did not know what to use for. The bright fabric to accompany the dinos could be found easily, and so did the yellows.

 Hello everyone!
Hope you had a nice weekend and your week started well, and you all are ready to continue.
Let's make one more simple block today.

You need to cut:

2 strips 7,5'' x 2,5'' from the BG fabric
2 strips 7,5'' x 2'' from the colored fabric


Buenos dias chicas! Creo que todas ustedes tuvieron el fin de semana lindo, todas despiertaron y ahora esten listas a continuar. Vamos a hacer un bloque muy facil mas.
Ustedes necesitaran:

Release 2: Dear Jane. Block A6 - Uncle Homer

Dear friends, lets move a little further. Today we will be making the other block, #A6.
You will need to cut one 3'' square + four 1,5'' squares from the colored fabric. Also, we will need four strips from background fabric, 1,5'' x 3''

Release 1: Dear Jane. Block D13 - Field of dreams

 Ok, girls, so we start!
Today we are going to sew the first block of our Dear Jane Quilt!

Block D13, Field of Dreams

Cut one 6'' square of a background fabric and four 4'' squares of colored fabric.


Cortar un cuadrito de 6'' de la tela principal (fondo) y cuatro cuadritos de 4'' de tela colorada.

We have summer here. Almost every morning is sunny and warm and under the sun the town looks amazingly beautiful, that's why today I picked up the camera and went for a little walk in a city center. I'd love yo share this beauty with you.

 I so much love patchwork for it's magic, for a possibility to create something really good fron.. scraps :) Yes, I am here again with a scrappy quilt. Just look at those fabrics!

Keep it simple

Sometimes when you're tired making complicated designs and patterns it is such a pleasure to give a rest to your head and make something really simple, both layout and quilting.

Just let the fabric sing for you!

Customer quilt

It was a pretty miniature woman, with such a beautiful kind face and shiny eyes. Slow expressive speach, open smile, her kind attetude - I was sure I was going to make something really precial for her!

She showed me the top and I fell in love! The harmoniously picked fabrics and such a neat clear design!

She agreed with my quilting sketch and I did this:

It was a looong long year

It was a really long year! Full of happiness and disappointments, big starts and falls, everyday learning and  everyday fixing, chasing the dream and losing it.
In february 2015, right before my birthday, I opened a quilt shop.
